Our marine reserve - shore diving not to be missed!
The prolific fish life, colourful sponges and soft corals at the famous Fly Point-Halifax Park Marine Reserve never cease to amaze divers and snorkellers alike.
Get up close and personal with large blue groupers and maori cod, marvel at the schools of pomfred, yellowtail, stripeys, old wives & bulleyes, peer under ledges for eels, octopi, crayfish, catfish and blind sharks, spot the many varieties of nudibranchs or go in search of seahorses, cuttlefish, wobbegongs or port jackson sharks. If your lucky you may even spot one of the resident turtles or have a close encounter with some passing dolphins!
These dives are a photographers heaven! The marine biodiversity is sure to amaze new divers and simply impress even the most experienced and travelled divers.
Dives within the marine reserve must be conducted at slack tide, with high tide reccomended for best visibility. Pro Dive Nelson Bay offers guided shore dives daily, though if you are confident in your navigation and critter spotting abilitites and simply wish to hire gear or grab an airfill, we are very happy to speak with you about suggested dive plans and provide you with a dive map. Dont forget we also have hot showers and a gear wash down area available for your use after your dive. |
